studio love

This is where I've been hanging out the past few days channeling my inner music goddess. I've been working on my live set & performance for some shows I'll be booking in the near future. Super stoked with my current set up and how everything is coming together <3

california dreaming

I went to California and it was amazing!  My lovely host and dear friend Karen invited me to stay at her house a few days and we traveled around looking at the beautiful scenery, it was a wonderful change up from the current Wisconsin winter.

The air there was warm and smelled of salt, minerals and sunshine were in constant surround and nothing was as lovely as seeing the vast ocean and rocky hills. We hiked up the peaks and had our rain dance on the dunes, and found some energy crystals to cleanse the soul. 

I returned home with a rejuvenated sense of motivation and inspiration, which has been pushing me to create create create.  I can almost still feel the warm breeze on my face. <3

What's next?

Ahhh, well it feels great to have the album finally done & released, and now I can focus on what's next. This will definitely include keeping "Northern Aura" running, my etsy shop.  I printed some postcards to drop off at the local coffee shops, and have some raw materials that I'm itching to use.
The other big project is Operation: Home Organization, which for me has always been the most challenging project, but it is a necessity at this point in my life.  I've done pretty well so far with my craft/music/art area and just need one more sorting day to get my storage shelves totally organized. Even though I tend to be a messy worker when I'm in the throws of creativity, I've noticed the overall flow is so much nicer when things are where you expect them to be and it's all nicely laid out for me to grab whichever tool/material I need. Creating the ultimate multipurpose art room is a top priority for me, and I'm lucky enough to have a space dedicated to my hobbies in my apartment, so why not make it totally amazing? What would you have in your ultimate art room if you could?

Keymashing Etsy

In the spirit of D.I.Y. masher style -- I have decided to re launch my etsy storefront: Northern Aura.  Over the past couple of years I have been creating small paintings and prints in my free time and have finally come to the point where I'm satisfied with what I'm creating, and feel confident enough to share it with the rest of the inter-world. 

I think the same sort of process applies to music making; it's a challenge to know when something is finished, but if I come to the point where I'm generally pleased with the results and I feel like making changes would be more harmful than helpful, then I feel like it's complete and then I either toss it or put it out there for others to see.

Wow hey!
I've been working really hard for the past year on getting to the point where I can release my debut full-length album.  I am very very close and am getting so excited about what's next for me in this crazy journey...I spent the past year traveling and had some great times and met some awesome people, and life can only keep getting better : )
